Our Produce

With Mount Canobolas literally just a stone’s throw away, the farming conditions for The Farm Gate by Nashdale Fruit Co are among Australia’s best. The cold climate, rich red volcanic soils and high nutrient levels combine to create the perfect conditions for growing flavoursome and nutritious fruit and vegetables.

The Farm Gate team takes great pride in the variety of produce they are able to grow. In particular, for many years, farmer John Reynolds has specialised in cultivating heirloom varieties of fruit and vegetables which are rarely found at the average greengrocer. Daughter Katie and son-in-law Beau are continuing this tradition, sourcing seeds from across the country to bring new life to ancient and obscure varieties and provide their customers with something different.

The Farm Gate grows a large variety of fruit ranging from summer cherries, nectarines, peaches, plums, berries and tomatoes to figs, apples and pears in the cooler months. Their range of seasonal vegetables includes several varieties of potato, garlic, horseradish, Jerusalem artichoke, beans, peas, carrots, radish, lettuce leaf, kale, corn, broccoli, cabbage, rhubarb, globe artichokes, asparagus and herbs.
