Local Harvest Challenge – Day 6 (6/4/12)

April 6, 2012

After a huge day yesterday, today was a little less chaotic but still extremely busy! Fridays are of course our picking and packing days for our weekend markets!
Browny points have to be given to Beau who after a massive day yesterday (not even making it to the bed last night, falling asleep on the lounge room floor) still managed to make Harry and I breakfast in bed this morning!

When I realised Good Friday was at the tail end of this weeks challenge I was a little concerned about what I would do for meals! We do not have any fish producers within 100 miles (160 kms), that I know of! There used to be a smoke house in Cowra that made some great smoked trout but it closed down a couple of years ago! I should have been a little more prepared but with the chaos of this week, today was left to the last minute!
I would consider going and catching my own, but this is usually something that Beau and I would do together and with a 10 month old in the mix, I do not fancy fishing and being on ‘comando-shuffling’ baby watch as well!

So the decision was made that we would be going vegetarian today.
